【摘要】:ThepurposeofthisTechnicalReportistoinvestigatetheinteroperabilityofPrivateIntegratedServicesNetworks(PISNs)andInternetProtocol(IP)networks,withaviewtoidentifyingpossiblescenariosforinteroperation,problemsthatwillhavetobesolvedifparticularscenariosaretobepursuedfurther,andpossiblefuturestandardizationactivitiesinthisarea.Inparticular,thefollowingaspectsofinteroperabilityareinvestigated:·theinterworkingofPISNsandIPnetworksviaagateway;·theconnectionofPISNcomponentsviaIPnetworks.Foreachoftheabove,aspectsconsideredincludearchitecture,addressing(includinguseofIPaddressing),services,protocols,security,qualityofserviceandmobility.ThisisconductedwithinthecontextofleadingstandardsforvoiceandmultimediacommunicationoverIPnetworks,includingITU-TrecommendationH.323,IETFSessionInitiationProtocol(SIP)andITU-TrecommendationH.248.PossiblefuturestandardizationactivitiesresultingfromthisTechnicalReportcanincludeworkitemsrelatingtoIPnetworksandworkitemsrelatingtoPISNs,aswellasworkitemsconcernedspecificallywithinteroperability.ThedominanttrafficinPISNsisvoice,andthereforethisTechnicalReportfocusesoninteroperabilityconsiderationsforvoicetraffic.However,manyofthestandardsthatsupportvoiceinanIPnetworkarealsoapplicabletomulti-mediatraffic(e.g.,voice,videoanddata).Althoughinmanyrespectssimilartovoice,faxtraffichasslightlydifferentrequirementsandisnotexplicitlyconsideredinthisTechnicalReport.Itcouldbethesubjectoffurtherstudy.
