【摘要】:Thistestmethodissuitableforsettingspecificationsonbenzeneandforuseasaninternalqualitycontroltoolwherebenzeneiseitherproducedorusedinamanufacturingprocess.ThistestmethodwasfoundapplicablefordeterminingthiopheneinrefinedbenzeneconformingtothespecificationsdescribedinSpecificationD2359andmaybeapplicabletowardothergradesofbenzeneiftheuserhastakenthenecessaryprecautionsasdescribedinthetext.ThistestmethodwasdevelopedasanalternativetechniquetoTestMethodD1685.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthiopheneinrefinedbenzeneintherangefrom0.5mg/kgto5.0mg/kg.Therangeofthetestmethodmaybeextendedbymodifyingthesampleinjectionvolume,splitratios,calibrationrange,orsampledilutionwiththiophene-freesolvent.1.2ThistestmethodhasbeenfoundapplicabletobenzenecharacteristicofthetypedescribedinSpecificationsD2359andD4734andmaybeapplicabletoothertypesorgradesofbenzeneonlyaftertheuserhasdemonstratedthattheprocedurecancompletelyresolvethiophenefromtheotherorganiccontaminantscontainedinthesample.1.3Thefollowingappliestoallspecifiedlimitsinthistestmethod:forpurposesofdeterminingconformancetoapplicablespecificationusingthistestmethod,anobservedvalueoracalculatedvalueshallberoundedoff"tothenearestunit"inthelastright-handdigitusedinexpressingthespecificationlimitinaccordancewiththerounding-offmethodofPracticeE29.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection7.
